For over 15 years, I have been involved in all aspects of business marketing. My marketing experience is extensive and diverse ranging from the development and implementation of prospect, win-back and base up-sell campaigns, creation of collateral and support materials, developing and maintaining lead lists, managing events and creating specialized reporting structures.
This experience, combined with a network of graphic artists, print shops, specialty merchandisers and a strong relationship with business partners, allows me to bring an unmatched array of possibilities to meet your specific business needs and challenges.
I have taken this lifetime of experience and have started my own business, Rural Marketing Services. My slogan of “Making Business Marketing Costs – Bearable” sums up my objectives. Small to mid-size businesses are challenged more than ever given the dire situation of the economy. Many businesses are cutting costs, hoping to survive. While that is a very prudent strategy, effective marketing is still a necessity. With the right plan, this is an excellent time to build market share and grow your business.
I began my marketing career at a major appliance manfaturuer as part of the Consumer Services Division. In 4 years I was able to transform a simple customer service toll-free line, considered a cost center by management that brought in limited revenue, into a parts and appliance program that saw revenues top the $1 million annual mark.
I moved on to a national service provider where I was responsible for increasing both the market share and wallet share by market for the company. These market plans consisted of detailed market analysis which produced programs targeted at the top vertical industries and opportunities in a given market. Programs varied from direct-mail campaigns, targeted collateral, hosted events and product promotions.
My success on the regional level led to a promotion to National Program Manager. In this role, I successfully oversaw the rollout of national marketing campaigns, acted as venue manager for their concert series, developed and managed a national barter program, and implemented a highly successful “win-back” program. At the same time, I implemented and managed all customer promotions and sales contests.
